Provide strategic and transformational leadership as the Regional Director of Nursing at Stormont Vail Health – Flint Hills Campus in Junction City, Kansas!Permanent | On-SiteThe Position 
  • The Regional Director of Nursing will provide executive leadership and 24/7 oversight of nursing services across acute care, ambulatory clinics, and rural health clinics at the Flint Hills Campus, Manhattan Clinic, and affiliated care locations, while driving operational excellence, professional nursing practice, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Reporting to the Hospital Administrator, with a dotted line to the Chief Nursing Officer, this leader will oversee a team of ten direct reports and approximately 100 FTEs.
  • This leader will play a key role in continuing the organization’s successful turnaround following its 2023 acquisition, helping sustain financial performance while guiding the next phase of operational and clinical growth.
  • A primary focus will be refining nursing practices and competencies following rapid growth. Responsibilities include conducting a comprehensive assessment, implementing improvements, mentoring staff, and supporting preparation for ongoing Magnet designation efforts.
  • Ideal candidates will be personable and approachable leaders, capable of building relationships across all levels of staff and driving meaningful culture change. A professional yet small-town demeanor will be key. This individual must demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent organizational and communication skills. A background in Medical/Surgical or Emergency Department settings is required.
Requirements
  • BSN and Master’s degree required.
  • Active RN license required.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical healthcare experience required, including at least three years in a leadership role.

  • SVH serves a multi-county region in northeast Kansas, comprised of Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center, the Cotton-O’Neil, and PediatricCare Clinics, with more than two hundred employed physicians and a variety of ancillary services.
  • The organization holds 70% of the Topeka surgery market share and is expanding exponentially – recently opening a brand-new ENT center and soon to be opening up a new outpatient surgery center and a hybrid OR. 
  • SVH is a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network which brings the expertise of Mayo medical specialists to the physicians at SVH.
