Telemetry RN’s monitor patients’ vital signs by reading and analyzing an electrocardiogram, or another life sign-measuring device. Tele RN’s are required for post-ICU care. Tele RN’s monitor critically ill patients: most are cardiac cases.  Tele RN’s typically work in a hospital setting. Tele RN’s care for patients who are out of the ICU, but need their vital signs monitored closely (after surgery, for example). Education/Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): 4-Year Education 
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN): 2-Year Education 
  • You must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN. 
  • RN‘s can only work with an active state license.
  • ACLS and TELE are often required
