We care for post op heart and lung patients up to and including heart and lung transplantation. Our patients are managed by on-unit Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants who are easily accessible and foster interdisciplinary teamwork. 9 of our beds have ICU monitoring capabilities for those cardiothoracic patients that need closer monitoring. External pacemakers and chest tubes are very common with this patient population. The normal patient ratio is 4:1.
