Job Summary: Observes, evaluates, and coordinates the care given to patients in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Participates in direct and indirect care of all related activities according to the policies, procedures, philosophy and mission of the organization. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred Registered Nurse experience with critical care experience or medical-surgical or experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab/Special Procedure department: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS OR HS-ACLS OR RQIACLS) certification: Required Advanced Electrocardiogram (EKG) certification: Preferred Basic Life Support (BLS or HS-BLS or RQI BLS) certification: Required Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required Essential Functions: Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation. Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient’s situation. Connect electrocardiogram (EKG) leads and alerts doctor of any changes in patient condition. Records analyzes hemodynamic parameters and calculates shunt and valves and other data. Monitors patient, analyzes electrocardiogram (EKG) and hemodynamic parameter and reports to physician any changes in patient’s condition. Operates computerized system with accuracy and evaluates and reports significant data and findings throughout all procedures for all patients of various age groups. Operates other specialized equipment that applies to facility as needed. Collaborates with the team of patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team. Under the general direction of the physician (Cardiologist/Radiologist), will assist by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab. Ensures procedure room is adequately prepared for the procedure. Monitors par level of all instruments and supplies. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities and the training of new staff. Assists in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.

We have the Colorado River, Lake Mead, Boat and jet ski rentals, Casinos minutes away, rodeos, concerts in Laughlin. – 4 hrs from the Grand Canyon. 4 hours from CA attractions like Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, etc

This department performs before-, during- and after-care of invasive, interventional, and therapeutic procedures/studies to treat cardiac and vascular arterial venous and structure heart disorders, cardiac rhythm abnormalities, to implant and remove devices and leads, and conduct therapeutic cathartic ablations. If you use this department, do not use 759008 (Electrophysiology).

Common Diagnosis/Treatment: RHC/LHC, Pacemaker, PCI, ICD, EP, TEE, Loop recorder, STEMI. # of Beds: 5-7 cases/day Nurse to Patient Ratio: Charting: Cerner Scrub Color: navy blue Areas of Float Support: Special Procedures: CardioMems, PFO, Impella. no scrub or critical care experience required

Top 10 Procedures/Scans:  Coronary Angiogram, PCI, Stenting  (DES and Bare Metal), Peripheral intervention, Transesophogeal Echo,. PPM and ICD Implant Most Common Equipment: Philips FD 20  Cerner and MacLab;  Imaging PACs system McKesson
