Susan Salka is the Chief Executive Officer of AMN Healthcare Services, Inc., (AMN). Under her leadership, AMN has become known as the innovator in healthcare workforce solutions and the largest and most diversified healthcare staffing company in the nation.
Ms. Salka is an active industry spokesperson in the healthcare and investment community, and has been one of the driving forces behind the company’s strategic and operational success since joining the company in 1990. Ms. Salka is passionate and actively involved in the areas of corporate social responsibility, diversity and inclusion, and gender equality. She personally participates in many of the company’s community initiatives, including the annual medical and community development mission trip to the most rural and impoverished regions of Guatemala.
Before becoming CEO, Ms. Salka served in several other executive positions at AMN, including CFO, COO, and Senior Vice President of Business Development. Ms. Salka currently serves on the board of directors of McKesson, including as chair of its Corporate Governance Committee and a member of its Compensation Committee. She also serves on the editorial advisory board of Directors & Boards magazine, a quarterly journal dedicated to the topics of leadership and corporate governance. She has previously served on other public company boards, including Beckman Coulter and Playtex Products.
Ms. Salka takes an active role helping others achieve their personal and professional goals and is a voice for the value of diverse representation. A member of Women Business Leaders and Women Corporate Directors Foundation, Ms. Salka is a proponent of promoting women in leadership. She has prioritized gender equality since joining AMN, and in 2018 and 2019 the company was named to the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index and Human Rights Campaign Foundation Corporate Equality Index. Ms. Salka also joined more than 500 CEOs in pledging her commitment to diversity and inclusion within the workplace through the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion project.
Ms. Salka has been recognized for her positive impact to elevate and evolve the industry with several recognitions by the American Staffing Association and Staffing Industry Analysts, including their Hall of Fame and Global Power 150 Women in Staffing lists. In 2019, Ms. Salka was recognized with the Dallas Business Journal Women in Business Award and was also honored by CEO Connection as the Mid Market CEO of the Year.
As an alumna of Chadron State University, Ms. Salka has been honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award. She was also awarded the Monty Award for accomplished alumni by San Diego State University, where she received her master’s degree in finance. In 2016, Ms. Salka was honored by San Diego State University with the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from the college of business administration.
Brian Scott joined AMN Healthcare in December 2003. He was appointed CFO, Chief Accounting Officer, and Treasurer in January 2011.
Prior to that time, Mr. Scott served in a variety of financial and operational roles for AMN, including most recently as Senior Vice President of Operations, Finance, and Business Development, in which capacity he oversaw our corporate financial planning and analysis, capital funding and business development activities. He has also served as President of the pharmacy staffing division and as Director, Senior Director and Vice President of Finance, where his roles have included overseeing all accounting operations and SEC reporting.
Mr. Scott started his career in San Francisco with KPMG and later became a partner in a mid-sized CPA firm. Mr. Scott also served as controller of a biotechnology company. He is a certified public accountant (inactive) in California, and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and a Master's of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
Denise Jackson joined AMN Healthcare in October 2000. Ms. Jackson is responsible for our legal, corporate governance, compliance, equity compensation strategies, risk management, real estate, and government and community affairs functions.
From 1995 to September 2000, Ms. Jackson worked for The Mills Corporation serving as Vice President and Senior Counsel from 1998 to 2000. She holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arizona, a Master of Public Health from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from the University of Arizona. Ms. Jackson is licensed as an attorney in California, the District of Columbia, Arizona, and New York. Ms. Jackson holds the role of Corporate Governance Chair on the Board of Tractor Supply Company. She previously served on the Board of PipelineRX, LLC where she also held the role of Chairperson of the Compensation Committee and the Board of Girls on the Run International, where she served as Chairperson.
Mark Hagan, Chief Information and Digital Officer of AMN Healthcare, is responsible for the company’s digital strategy, technology R&D, enterprise information technology infrastructure, operations, development, security, and program management operations.
Mr. Hagan brings to AMN a tremendous amount of experience in systems integration and platform rationalization, innovation, and leading the enterprise technology execution and evolution for multiple acquisitions.
Prior to joining AMN, Mr. Hagan was Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of IT at Envision Healthcare, a diverse healthcare services and technology company and a leading provider of physician-led services, post-acute care, ambulatory surgery services, and related management services. Prior to Envision, Mark was IT Director at TeleTech, where he developed and executed the company’s IT strategy for expansion and global infrastructure, including deployments in Asia, Europe, South America, and the United States.
He has experience driving and supporting major deployments of core business applications, leading digital transformations, and developing and launching new software products. Mr. Hagan is also dedicated to innovation: he has introduced robotic process automation, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, and other forms of innovation to evolve and streamline operations.
Julie Fletcher is the Chief Talent Officer for AMN Healthcare and in that role she provides leadership for attracting, developing, and optimizing team member talent for corporate roles and across the AMN diverse family of workforce solutions and staffing companies.
Ms. Fletcher joined AMN Healthcare in 2008 as the Senior Vice President, Human Resources and was promoted to the Chief Talent Officer role in 2014. AMN Healthcare is passionately committed to investing in its talent as a key differentiator and Ms. Fletcher leads all aspects of the team member lifecycle.
Prior to joining AMN, Ms. Fletcher served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for H&R Block’s Option One Mortgage Company in Irvine, CA. In that role, she championed a new talent strategy for the 5,500-person brand of a 110,000 person organization. Prior to H&R Block, Ms. Fletcher was a top HR executive for the Los Angeles Times, a division of The Tribune Company. Ms. Fletcher has also served as a key player at the Walt Disney Co./Parks and Resorts Division, leading Human Resource Services and a host of leadership roles in the people and cast functions.
She is actively involved in the human resource community beyond her role at AMN Healthcare. She is an active member of the CHRO Council of the Conference Board and was named to the Board of Directors for Make-a-Wish® San Diego in 2013. Ms. Fletcher also sits on the Pipeline RX Board of Directors and sits as a member of the Compensation Committee. Ms. Fletcher earned a Bachelor of Science degree in HR Management and Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University, and a Master of Science in Organization/HR Management Development from Chapman University.
Cole Edmonson, DNP, RN, FACHE, FAONL, NEA-BC, FNAP, FAAN is the Chief Experience and Clinical Officer for AMN Healthcare. In his role, Dr. Edmonson oversees the company’s clinical and credentialing organizations, learning and research programs, and is responsible for clinical quality. Dr. Edmonson is also responsible for client and clinician experience and marketing.
Dr. Edmonson comes to AMN from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, a three-time Magnet hospital with a highly respected and decorated nursing staff, where he has been Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer since 2010. He held the same position at other hospitals since 1998. He brings three decades of experience as a nurse leader, along with deep involvement in research, professional organizations, health policy development, and community service. He has a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Texas Christian University, Master and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees from Oklahoma University. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Academy of Nursing, National Academy of Practice, and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership as well as being credentialed as a nursing executive advanced, board-certified by ANCC.
Dr. Edmonson is well known for his success in elevating the nursing leadership role and creating collegial teams across the clinical delivery continuum. He is a highly sought after national speaker and a published author of articles and a co-author and contributor to several books. Dr. Edmonson has served on the board of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership and is currently on the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He is an alum of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellow program. Throughout his tenure as a nurse leader, he has initiated and led innovative programs to advance clinical quality, education, professional practice, patient experience and safety, and clinician safety.
Landry Seedig, Group President and Chief Operating Officer, Nursing and Allied Solutions, is responsible for the leadership of the AMN nurse and allied staffing businesses, and revenue cycle solutions.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Seedig was Division President, Nursing, for AMN Healthcare. Demonstrating a proven ability to drive and manage large-scale business initiatives, as well as offering extensive experience in operations management, marketing, integrations and business development, Mr. Seedig has been in the healthcare staffing sector since 2001, and had worked in the IT staffing sector prior to that time.
Mr. Seedig is passionate about helping team members achieve professional development goals and takes an active role in AMN committees such as mentoring, traveler benefits, and government compliance. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Texas A&M University.
Kelly Rakowski, Group President and Chief Operating Officer, Strategic Talent Solutions for AMN Healthcare, is responsible for the leadership of enterprise/MSP strategic sales and account management, workforce technology solutions, and strategic outsourced solutions.
Ms. Rakowski’s experience includes a rich background in healthcare leadership and transformation. With over 25 years of healthcare-related consulting and services experience, she brings expertise in strategy, client service delivery, performance improvement, and cultural excellence.
Prior to this role, Ms. Rakowski was President of Leadership Solutions at AMN Healthcare. Prior to joining AMN, she was the senior vice president of advisory services at Premier, Inc., comprised of operational transformation, population health strategy, and clinical quality and safety improvement. Ms. Rakowski previously led healthcare consulting groups with several large firms, including Accenture, EY/Capgemini, GE Healthcare, and Xerox. Ms. Rakowski has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Rochester and a master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan.
James Taylor, Group President and Chief Operating Officer, Physician & Leadership Solutions, is responsible for leadership of the AMN locum tenens, interim leadership, and physician and executive search businesses.
Mr. Taylor joined AMN in 2021 and brings a strong background of healthcare leadership, strategic insight, and diverse experiences to his role. Prior to joining AMN, Mr. Taylor was President, Sportservice, at Delaware North. He also spent 18 years of his professional career at Sodexo, one of the world’s largest service providers, in varying roles including CEO, Healthcare in London; Division President, Healthcare; President, Senior Living; and Corporate Vice President, among other leadership roles. He also served as Director of Operations for Coca Cola in Dallas.
Mr. Taylor is passionate about developing others, creative thinking, driving innovation, and lean continuous process improvement. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from Arkansas Tech University, a Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University, and a Master of Arts degree in Management of Aging Services from the University of Maryland.
Nishan Sivathasan, Head of Enterprise Strategy and M&A for AMN Healthcare, is responsible for designing and developing the AMN Healthcare enterprise strategy for growth and market leadership.
Mr. Sivathasan joined AMN in 2019 and brings to the organization a background in strategy, technology, and marketing. Most recently, he was responsible for eCommerce strategy and business development at JCPenney. Previously, Mr. Sivathasan spent time at a financial technology start-up and almost 10 years at Rackspace, a global managed cloud computing company, in executive positions that spanned strategy, corporate development, product development, and marketing.
Mr. Sivathasan started his career at Accenture as a management consultant. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Austin College.
Dan White is a seasoned executive with a proven track record of driving high-growth business outcomes through market disruption, innovative solutions, strong client and partner relationships, and sound strategy. As President of Workforce Solutions, he is responsible for reshaping the way AMN Healthcare delivers its suite of workforce solutions to a diverse client base, including the industry-leading Managed Services Programs (MSP), Vendor Management Systems (VMS), and open marketplace for healthcare.
Mr. White leads the go-to-market activities for AMN, including sales, solution design, implementation, partner strategy and engagement and ongoing program management for the company’s largest and most strategic clients.
Mr. White founded SkillSet Software in 1993 and has continued to build his career through sales and operational leadership roles across many industries. Mr. White is passionate about helping healthcare organizations improve their patient experience by aligning their business and workforce strategies, and advancing digital innovation and disruption for the industry.
He possesses an entrepreneurial spirit, has built innovative products to address pressing needs in the marketplace, and has implemented large scale workforce programs at companies including Convergys Corporation and IBM. Mr. White is also a recognized industry spokesman, speaking regularly on the topics of workforce lifecycle management, recruitment best practices, human resources systems design, talent optimization, and other related subjects. He received a BBA in Accounting from the University of San Diego in 1985. He is married with two children, and resides in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
Robin Johnson serves as President, AMN Healthcare and is responsible for leading sales and financial performance. Robin brings to AMN more than 20 years of experience in the staffing industry across various functions, including recruitment operations, account management, marketing and sales.
Ms. Johnson joins the AMN family from Yoh, a workforce solutions company, where she led 375 team members and was responsible for staffing, RPO, and managed service programs. Prior to Yoh, she served as Senior Vice President of Sales at Adecco.
Ms. Johnson earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Southeast Missouri State University.
Jeff Decker serves as Division President for our Locum Tenens service line and is responsible for the leadership of AMN locum tenens brands including Staff Care and Locum Leaders.
Mr. Decker has been with the AMN organization for more than 15 years, most recently leading the Allied division, and he brings to AMN Healthcare a successful background in recruitment, operations management, marketing and brand development. Prior to joining the company, he was the President of Resources On Call, building the company from a regional resource to a national market segment leader. He has more than 20 years of experience with the healthcare industry, beginning with the branding of Humana while with McCann Erickson, the world’s largest and most globally experienced advertising network. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Bernard Godley, MD, PhD, is Lead Physician Executive for the Leadership Solutions division at AMN Healthcare. Dr. Godley is responsible for overseeing physician and executive leadership search and thought leadership for academic medical centers across the country.
Before joining AMN in 2020, Dr. Godley was Senior Client Partner for the Academic Health Center Practice at Korn Ferry, a global organizational consulting firm. Prior to Korn Ferry, he served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston. Dr. Godley is credited with the rapid turnaround of this department -- significantly improving patient satisfaction, operational efficiency, and growth in faculty and services.
Dr. Godley earned a bachelor's degree at Brown University and completed the combined MD and PhD program at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). After completing his medical internship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, he participated in an ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa, followed by a medical retina fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the University of London, and a surgical retina fellowship at the Retina Institute of Maryland. Dr. Godley earned an MBA at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, where he focused on leadership and finance. He was a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Godley has published numerous scientific articles and has served on National Institutes of Health advisory panels. He is known for lean process improvement and innovation in executive search. He has developed strategies for organizations to build under-represented minority talent pipeline programs.
Maureen Huber serves as President of Workforce Technology Solutions at AMN Healthcare, where she is responsible for leading the operations and financial performance across the AMN technology solution businesses. Ms. Huber has more than two decades of experience leading various organizations, and a rich background in the areas of information technology, finance, human resources, and operations.
Previously, Ms. Huber served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Stratus Video, an AMN Healthcare division that provides video remote language interpretation services to the healthcare industry. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Synzi, a virtual care company dedicated to providing better ways for healthcare organizations to engage colleagues, patients, and members simply and efficiently.
Ms. Huber has a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University and is a graduate of Michigan State University's Executive MBA Program.
Cody Burch serves as President of Interim Leadership & Search at AMN Healthcare, where he is responsible for all levels of clinical and non-clinical healthcare leadership recruitment, including interim leaders.
Mr. Burch brings to AMN Healthcare 15 years of experience in healthcare recruitment, business operations, and financial management. In his previous role, he served as Executive Vice President of B.E. Smith, an AMN Healthcare division dedicated to premier full-service executive leadership solutions. The many roles that Mr. Burch held at B.E. Smith since joining the organization in 2005 allowed him to gain a thorough understanding of market trends in healthcare and of the unique demands faced by hospital leaders and healthcare systems.
Mr. Burch holds a Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Business Administration from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
