This unit is LDRP, includes postpartum, surgery suite for cesarean sections, a well newborn nursery for stabilization and transfer. The units are all together and licensed as an LDRP. Some floating to Bakersfield is REQUIRED as needed. This unit provides antepartum/antenatal and postpartum/postnatal care for maternity patients and normal newborns. Gynecology patients are excluded. Note that this department does include labor and delivery. Job Summary: Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.
