Passes instruments to surgeon during procedure. Anticipates surgeon?s needs of additional supplies. Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed. Prepares sterile dressings. Secures dressings after incision closure. Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure. Obtains appropriate sterile and unsterile items needed for procedure. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure. Helps drape sterile field. Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists other members of team with cleaning of room for turnover. Assists in prepping room for the next patient. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Demonstrates knowledge and ability to effectively function in Code Blue and other emergency situations. Accurately administers and charts medications according to hospital policies and procedures using patient?s 6 rights. Implements and /or assists others in implementation and documentation of planned education. Assesses patient?s educational needs. Demonstrates intraoperative competency as an RNFA: manual dexterity, suturing and litigating, providing hemostasis, exposing the surgical site, position, prepping and draping.
