Job Summary: Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred Acute care facility experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required Essential Functions: Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient?s health or situation. Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient?s situation. Collaborates with the team of patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team. Participates in discharge planning in order to provide continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Job Summary: Responsible for the planning coordination and provision of nursing care to patients on the critical care setting. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice. Responsible for critical care nursing knowledge and skills applicable to but not limited to the care of patients with multi system failure requiring ventilation neuro / trauma respiratory failure and hemodynamic monitoring. Accurately interprets ECG rhythm and manages care of patients during life threatening emergencies in populations served. Verifies alarm settings with Monitor Technician according to policy. Demonstrates knowledge of lead functions and application able to make recommendations for best monitoring based on patient presentation. Demonstrates knowledge/skill regarding the care and management of patients requiring ICP and ventriculostomy monitoring. Is proficient in assessment and intervention in changes in neurological symptoms. Demonstrates knowledge/skill regarding the care and management of patients requiring Pulmonary Artery Monitoring Catheters and patients requiring Arterial Pressure Monitoring Catheters. Demonstrates knowledge/skill regarding the care and management of patients requiring mechanical ventilation and other ventilatory support devises I.e. C-pap mask Nasal bi-pap mask High Flow O2 mask. Demonstrates knowledge regarding the principles of multisystem alteration and its impact on physiological functions developmental tasks and alteration in mental processing of the adult and elder population. Initiates a multidisciplinary goal oriented care plan for each patient in collaboration with members of the health care team and provides care based on that plan. Educates patients and/or their families regarding care. Uses teaching methods appropriate to the age condition culture and assessed learning-readiness of the patient. Completes legible accurate and timely documentation of all nursing care provided including evaluation of patient’s response to medications treatments procedures. Consistently performs necessary unit specific safety quality control checks i.e. Shift and 24hr MD order checks VO/TO Read Back crash cart checks urine QC refrig logs outdate checks.
