Skills Required • Knowledge of radiographic examinations and positioning techniques including those procedures that require the use of contrast agents • Basic computer skills, ability to navigate through Windows (Outlook, a plus) • Knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meet schedules • Demonstration of ethical and professional conduct Duties and Responsibilities • Prepares room, equipment, contrast and materials as needed for patients • Cleans and disinfects radiographic room and equipment • Prepares patient for radiographic procedure: explains procedure, assists patient throughout the exam including exiting the room • Follows prescribed techniques in administering specific x-rays in order to obtain diagnostic images • Able to competently utilize HIS/PACs/RIS software programs. • Prints exams on film PRN; participates in department QA program • Observes patient and equipment during procedure-reports unusual occurrences and records patient condition as needed • Maintains stock supplies and performs general office duties. • Active movement through the work day. Standing, sitting, pivoting and walking. Requirements • Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program • Licensed by the New York State Department of Health • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists • Flexibility to work overtime including off-shift duty as needed (evenings and weekends)
