The health care team handles the initial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and long term follow-up for children of all ages. Education is designed to meet the needs of every patient and family. Features of the unit Comprehensive health care team, including: doctors, nurses, pharmacists, therapists, dietitians, care managers and social workers. Pullout beds in each room for parents or caregivers to stay overnight. Room service with special meal selections just for kids. Private bathrooms with showers in each patient room. Family lounge with play space for visitors. Common Diagnosis/Treatment: Respiratory, GI, ortho/trauma, surgical – general and ENT, all inpatients that are not hem/onc # of Beds: 21-30 Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:3-5 Charting: Epic Scrub Color: Navy Blue Areas of Float Support: PICU and Blank 4 – gen peds patients only, NICU – feeder growers/gen peds status, float to other units to sit with 1:1 patients Special Procedures: support provider for LP, IV placement
