Travel RN jobs in the 24 bed Advanced Heart Failure Unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA place you in a fast-paced, high-acuity intermediate care and critical care environment. Norfolk offers vibrant waterfront living, cultural attractions, and easy access to beaches. The facility provides advanced heart failure therapies and is recognized for its collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. You will care for patients with heart failure, ventricular assist device (VAD) complications, NSTEMI and coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, transplant rejection, pulmonary arterial hypertension, hypoxic respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, renal failure, and sepsis. Patient ratios range from 2 to 4:1. You will work with equipment such as left ventricular assist devices (LVAD), CADD Solis VIP, Remunity, Tyvaso, bedside monitors (12 beds), and Impella. You will titrate vasoactive drips including milrinone, dobutamine, dopamine, norepinephrine, vasopressin, lidocaine, nicardipine, cardizem, nitroglycerin, as well as heparin, Angiomax, Glucommander, Protonix, octreotide, IVIG, antivirals, and IV antibiotics. To qualify, you must have a minimum of 18 months of PCU RN experience within the last 3 years. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), advanced cardiac monitoring, and managing complex medication drips is recommended.
