Intrapartum: -Labor assessment, evaluation, and care. -Fetal evaluation and assessment. -Preparation of expectant mother for safe delivery. -Administration of medications including but not limited to: Pitocin, misoprostol, methergine, hemabate, mag sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine, hydralazine, insulin. -Immediate stabilization of newborn. -Administer newborn medications. -Prep for scheduled or emergency cesarean delivery. Postpartum/Newborn: -Assessment and care of postpartum (vaginal and cesarean deliveries) and newborn patients. -Newborn care includes (but not limited to): hearing screen, assisting with laboratory draws, IV starts and care, medication administration (hep B, vit K, erythromycin, antibiotics), assist with circumcisions, care of opiate withdrawal newborns, stabilization of critically ill newborns for transport, phototherapy, hypoglycemia care.
