  • The Director of Pharmacy provides oversight, direction, strategic planning, and coordination to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient use of medications across all operational, clinical, and financial pharmacy services at Wellstar’s newest hospital, Columbia County Medical Center.
  • The Pharmacy Director reports directly to the Assistant Vice President of Operations and will oversee a team of 68 FTEs and three direct reports.
  • This leader will establish the foundational framework for expanding pharmacy services, including growth into ambulatory and infusion services, while evaluating procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement, and strengthening medication safety practices.
  • The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid understanding of medication safety, the ability to build and foster relationships, and excellent communication skills. Demonstrated working knowledge of the 340B program and the ability to effectively speak to financial performance and metrics are highly desirable.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license required.
  • Minimum of seven years of hospital pharmacy experience required, including at least three years in a leadership role.

  • The Director of Surgical Services will provide oversight, direction, strategic planning, and coordination of care, ensuring safe and effective practices are followed in alignment with the hospital’s mission, vision, and goals.
  • Department oversight includes six ORs, Pre/Post-Op, PACU, Endoscopy, and the Sterile Processing Department.
  • Reporting to the AVP, Perioperative Services, this leader will oversee 3 direct reports and 118 FTEs.
  • This leader will be responsible for hiring staff for a new hospital opening, managing onboarding and training, creating and enhancing departmental policies, and participating in committee meetings to address and resolve issues.
  • The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple sites while managing patient care and physician scheduling.
Requirements
  • BSN required; Master’s degree required (or enrolled in a graduate program with completion expected within 12 months of hire).
  • Active RN license required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of nursing experience required, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished and forward-thinking executive to lead the continued expansion, alignment, and enterprise-wide integration of Digestive Health services across the health system. Established as a standalone service line in 2021, Digestive Health has experienced extraordinary growth, with GI and endoscopy procedure volumes increasing from approximately 19,000 in FY23 to more than 52,000 annualized in FY26, supported by significant investment in physician practices, ambulatory sites, and procedural capacity.As Wellstar advances its vision to be a premier community and academic digestive health program delivering high-quality, comprehensive, patient-centered care, the AVP will play a critical leadership role in shaping strategy, strengthening physician partnerships across employed and affiliated models, and driving operational excellence across a complex, matrixed health system.Reporting to the Vice President and Administrative Lead of the Clinical Services Lines, this leader will play a central role in advancing Wellstar’s ambition to become the premier provider of Digestive Health services in the Southeast, translating strategic vision into operational execution across a complex, multi-hospital environment.The AVP will develop and formalize a comprehensive, integrated service line model that extends beyond a traditional practice-based approach to one that is inclusive of all Digestive Health physicians practicing across the system, including employed and affiliated partners. This leader will identify and execute opportunities for growth through market expansion, physician alignment, service optimization, and improved access, while ensuring consistent standards of care, high reliability, and strong financial performance across all sites of service.Qualifications (Preferred and Including, but not limited to):
  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration or related field strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a complex healthcare environment, with significant exposure to matrixed operating structures
  • Demonstrated expertise in program and service line development, including scaling and optimizing clinical operations
  • Prior experience in Digestive Health / Gastroenterology within a multi-hospital system strongly preferred
  • Excellent physician relations skills and previous experience in growing volume
  • Proven ability to develop long- and short-range goals and plans; program evaluation; and budget preparation to ensure the services and programs provided by the department achieve quality standards
  • A leadership style which emphasizes personal accountability and visibility within the system and within the community. Plus, the ability to build a departmental and organizational culture which embraces compassion, accountability, respect and excellence to support achieving the goals of the organization
