Healthcare Jobs Growth Retreats after Torrid June and July
The healthcare industry added 39,400 jobs in July, a monthly growth rate that nearly reaches the post-recession high of 40,000 new jobs in May 2015. The July growth rate follows 37,000 jobs added in June.
The data is from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics monthly national employment survey.
Job gains were predominant in ambulatory health care services, which added 30,000 jobs, while hospital jobs grew by 7,000 during the month. Healthcare has added 327,000 jobs over the past year.
