AMN Acquires Medfinders: Building for the Future of the Healthcare Workforce

By Susan Salka, president and CEO, AMN Healthcare

September 14, 2010 - AMN Healthcare has reached another milestone in our history as we welcome Medfinders to the AMN family. The acquisition, completed on September 1, 2010, expanded our service capabilities for healthcare providers across the country and strengthened our position as the nation’s largest provider of comprehensive healthcare staffing and workforce solutions. We are now celebrating the union of these two very strong and successful organizations.

There were many reasons for merging these two companies into a larger, more diverse organization, but the chief aim was to create a synergistic alliance that would further AMN’s long-term strategy in developing comprehensive healthcare workforce solutions. Together, we are even better equipped to help our clients meet their patient care and efficiency goals.

When we were looking for a strategic partner, it became clear that Medfinders would be an excellent fit because of the company’s diverse and successful service offerings, organizational culture and its talented team members. We share many common values and principles that will help us through a successful integration.

One area where Medfinders has excelled is as the nation’s leading provider of clinical workforce managed services programs. Medfinders also provides excellent local (per diem) and travel nurse and allied staffing, locum tenens, physician search services, and home healthcare services. Their company brands include leading names like Nursefinders, Club Staffing, Resources on Call, National Healthcare Staffing, Linde Healthcare, Kendall & Davis and SingleSource.

Combining Medfinders with AMN Healthcare improves our ability to deliver a more innovative, total solution to our diverse client base, adding more value than either company was capable of separately. The Medfinders travel nurse and allied, locum tenens and permanent physician placement divisions will bolster our leadership position in these industry segments. There is also significant value added from Medfinders’ strength in managed services and local nurse staffing, as well as the diversification and new growth opportunities with the home healthcare division.

A lot of effort has already been invested to prepare us for the next stage in our company’s history, but there is, of course, still a lot of work to be accomplished to fully achieve the synergies that will benefit our clients, our healthcare professionals, our corporate employees and our stockholders.

Going forward, our healthcare clients and clinical professionals can continue working with their current contacts for staffing, recruiting and workforce solutions; contact information is also provided on the appropriate sections of the AMN Web site.

AMN Healthcare has long been recognized as the nation’s leader in healthcare staffing and management solutions. Now, with the addition of Medfinders, we offer the most extensive network of healthcare professionals across the full spectrum of clinical specialties, plus innovative services and solutions at the local and national level. We believe the value, breadth and depth of services we can offer is unparalleled within the industry.
