Acute Intermediate Care/Progressive Care/Step-down Number of Beds – 37 beds; 10 are acuity/ventilator adaptable Patient Ratios – 1:3-4 patients; based on acuity levels may have one or two assignments of 1:2 ratio Type of equipment – ventilators, bipap, high-flow/salter NC oxygen delivery. All patients are on wall mounted cardiac monitors. End-tidal CO2 monitor may be used for specific patient requirements. he Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifying and determining the priority of patient’s problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care, all in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team. The RN coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members.
