ASAP start needed Manager Interviews About Facility: Address: 50 Union St., Ellsworth, ME 04605 Beds: 64 Licensed Beds CRNA, RN, PA, and CST students will be at the facility, but no residents General Information: Number of ORs: 4 Minimum Years of Experience? RN: 5 years preferred, but will take 3 years CST: 5 years preferred, but will take 3 years Will you accept a first-time traveler? No, need at least 1 travel assignment Case Types: Adults and peds, but minimal peds General surgeries (open and laparoscopic) – bowel, gallbladder, appendix, hernias, portacath, fistulas Urology – laser lithotripsy, nephroureteral stent insertion/removal, vasectomies, TURPs ENT – T&As, endoscopic sinus, facial lesions, thyroids, nick dissection OBGYN – C-sections, tubal ligations, D&Cs, D&Es, hysteroscopies, hysterectomies, uterine ablations Ortho – Total joints (knees and hips, only a few shoulders), fractures, wrists, ankles, ACL repairs, fingers, carpal tunnel, rods (bipolar and nailings); podiatry (can be trained) Endoscopies – EGDs and colonoscopies (experience not required) Do not need robotics experience No conscious sedation cases All staff will help turn over rooms Cases performed per day (average): Average about 25 cases per day Required Licensure and Certifications: RN: BLS, ACLS Scrub Tech: BLS, CST Skills required: RN: Experience with above case types Scrub experience preferred but not required; will be circulating Cerner or EPIC experience required Scrub Tech: Ok if no experience with total joints, podiatry, or endoscopy cases, but need to be willing to be trained Ok if no OB/C-section experience, but need to be comfortable with at least open abdominal cases and be willing to be trained in c-sections Experience with all other case types listed above Support on the Unit: Supervisor CRNAs 1 anesthesiologist (Monday – Thursday) Anesthesia Tech will help turn over room Charge RN 2 resource nurses OR Educator (part of the resource nurses) RT 24/7 Hospitalist 24/7 Phlebotomy Technology/Equipment: EMR: Cerner – Cerner or EPIC experience required for RNs IV pumps: Alaris Medication dispensing: Pyxis Floating: If yes, where? May float to inpatient areas as a task person/helping hands – will not assume a patient assignment Orientation: 1 week of orientation Will be with call buddy during orientation week First week of orientation will work five 8h shifts Scheduling: Operating hours: Monday – Friday, 0700-1730 Weekend rotation: Call only – see below Shift: Everyone works 10h shifts with a rotating day off Manager will make call schedule, typically made for about 6 weeks at a time. Call required for RN and CST: 6-7 call shifts per month on average Weekday: typically 1-2 call shifts. Will be EOS until 0700 the following morning Weekends: typically every 4th or 5th weekend. Will be EOS Friday until Monday morning at 0700 Response Time: 20 minutes 1 sleep room available; check spread sheet at facility for availability Holiday Expectations? Will be on call some holidays but not all if there are multiple in the contract RTO: Manager approval Other notes: Scrub Color: Surgical scrubs provided Parking: Free
