Facility & Unit Highlights 321-bed, non-teaching hospital Level II Trauma Center ~240 deliveries/month 10 LDR rooms | 10 Antepartum rooms | 2 OR/PACU suites Level III NICU (team present for high-risk deliveries) Ratios: 1:1–1:4 (acuity-based, CA mandated) Patient Population ~20% high-risk cases Common conditions: Pre-eclampsia, diabetes (IDDM), advanced maternal age Placenta previa, cardiac conditions, lupus Twin/complex pregnancies Procedures include: C-sections (~28%), D&C, tubal ligations, post-amnio care Epidural rate: 90–95% Requirements Minimum 16 months strong L&D experience (2+ years preferred) Required Certifications: ACLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring Must be confident with: High-risk patients & MgSO4 infusions Fetal scalp electrodes & IUPCs Vaginal exams & fetal heart monitoring interpretation Must be autonomous and comfortable in high-acuity settings Role Details RN circulates in OR (no scrubbing required) May float to Antepartum or Mother Baby (within scope) Travelers float first Support & Resources 24/7 in-house support: Nurse Midwives, Anesthesia, Pediatrician Neonatology (on-site daily, on-call 24/7) OB Hospitalists on-site ~14 hrs/day Unit clerk & scrub tech support each shift Schedule & Requirements Every other weekend (4 shifts per schedule) Holiday coverage required (2 winter + 2 summer holidays) EMR: Epic (preferred) Additional Info Orientation: 3–4 days RTO required at submission References required (within 1 year) Dress Code Any color scrubs (no jeans) Closed-toe, non-slip shoes
