The Department of Pediatrics is embarking on an unprecedented recruitment effort, adding more than 50 faculty over the next five years to meet statewide and regional needs, providing the incoming Chief with exceptional resources to build a large, high-impact Division.In addition to clinical and administrative leadership, the position includes significant academic responsibilities within the Department of Pediatrics, a multifaceted department comprising of 16 divisions and more than 200 faculty members. The faculty serves as the principal medical staff of Oklahoma Children’s Hospital and shares a unified commitment to advancing the health and well-being of children across the state while providing high-quality education to trainees. The Division: The Division of Genetics at OU Children’s Hospital is the state’s only pediatric genetics program, providing comprehensive care for infants, children, adolescents, and families with suspected genetic, congenital, hereditary, or metabolic conditions. The Division includes 14 faculty and staff—2 geneticists, 2 APPs, 7 genetic counselors, 2 patient service coordinators, and 1 genetics nurse—with an additional nursing role being added as the program grows.Housed within the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, the Division offers full diagnostic evaluation, counseling, testing, and screening for conditions such as birth defects, malformation syndromes, inborn errors of metabolism, and familial cancer syndromes. Cytogenetic, molecular, and specialized biochemical testing are coordinated through the Division, and teratogen consultation services are available.The Division is supported by OU Health’s regional laboratory network, the largest in the area, featuring a centralized core lab and dedicated Genetics Laboratory, Cytogenetics Laboratory, Molecular Genetics Laboratory, and specialized Biochemical Genetics testing capabilities. These CLIA certified, CAP accredited labs provide comprehensive chromosome analysis, microarray testing, molecular diagnostics, next-generation sequencing, FISH, metabolic testing, and diagnostic support for hematologic and soft tissue malignancies.The Division also plays a leading role in Oklahoma’s statewide newborn screening program, which screens for approximately 49 disorders. Early identification and treatment of metabolic and genetic conditions through this program has significantly improved outcomes for children across the state.Research within the Division is anchored by the Sanghera Genetic Epidemiology Lab, which conducts NIH funded studies in complex diseases such as Type 2 Diabetes, Obesity, Coronary Artery Disease, Stroke, and Dyslipidemia. Ongoing projects include genome wide association studies, functional genomics, and biomarker discovery, with a strong focus on health disparities and population based genetics.   • The Assistant Vice President, Surgical Services, supports the development and execution of operational plans that advance enterprise-wide perioperative and procedural services strategies, aligned with the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of the OU Health.
  • Reporting to the Vice President of Perioperative and Procedural Services, this leader will oversee approximately 300 FTEs across 50+ ORs.
  • This leader will provide stability to the department while focusing heavily on mentoring and coaching staff. They will also be responsible for improving key quality metrics, including employee turnover and patient experience.
  • Ideal candidates will bring extensive AVP-level experience and a proven background within an academic medical center environment. This leader must be able to effectively coach and mentor staff, think strategically, and collaborate across teams. Excellent communication skills will be critical for success in this role.
  • This is an onsite role with required travel to satellite hospitals. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered in the future.
Requirements
  • BSN required; Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or nursing required.
  • Active RN required.
  • A minimum of seven to ten years of progressive leadership experience within a surgical services environment is required. Prior academic medical center experience is preferred.

  • The Assistant CRNA Program Director will be responsible for launching and developing the new CRNA program in alignment with the mission of the College of Nursing.
  • This leader will report to the CRNA Program Director and will collaborate closely with other Program Directors, the Executive Director for Student Affairs, Department Chairs, and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. 
  • This leader will be responsible for representing faculty and students related to the CRNA Program on all levels and will serve as a liaison between the OU College of Nursing and the CRNA community. 
  • Ideal candidates will have experience working as a CRNA with a strong focus on teaching CRNA practices. They must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • This role requires an onsite leader; remote or hybrid work options are not available. 
Requirements
  • PhD, DNP, or DNAP required; must hold or be eligible to obtain an active OK APRN license.
  • CRNA certification required.
  • A minimum of three years of practicing as a CRNA is required. 
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience in addition to two years of faculty leadership experience within a CRNA program is required. 
  • A record of scholarship and extramural funding is strongly preferred.
