This position follows a consistent 7 nights on / 7 nights off schedule, offering extended stretches of time off to rest, travel, or enjoy the natural surroundings and community amenities in Richland Center. Night shifts typically involve a combination of scheduled exams and emergent studies, with varying volumes depending on seasonal trends and community needs. A typical night can include general diagnostic radiography such as chest, extremity, spine, and abdominal studies, as well as CT examinations including head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and specialized protocols for trauma and stroke evaluation. You will be responsible for patient positioning, exam setup, contrast administration where applicable, image acquisition, and ensuring that completed studies are transmitted promptly for interpretation. In this role, you will be expected to triage imaging requests based on clinical urgency, maintain clear communication with nursing and medical staff, and ensure that patients receive compassionate, respectful care even during overnight hours. You will work with a lean, efficient night team, which allows technologists to exercise broad skills and autonomy while still benefiting from a collaborative environment. Departments such as emergency, inpatient units, and respiratory therapy rely on imaging, so you will have frequent interdisciplinary interaction and the opportunity to build strong relationships across the hospital. The imaging department emphasizes adherence to radiation safety standards, dose reduction strategies, and consistent protocols for both radiography and CT. You will contribute to quality control activities such as equipment warm-up procedures, daily checks, and basic troubleshooting, and you will follow established policies and procedures for exam documentation, contrast administration, infection prevention, and patient identification.
