This is an extraordinary opportunity to lead a dynamic team of Professionals and Staff committed to providing culturally relevant and high-quality mental health and social services to vulnerable populations in Los Angeles County.  About Us: Founded in 1994, SCHARP is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving ethnic minority populations, homeless individuals, and those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The mission is to improve lives through culturally sensitive, quality mental health and social services. BAFMA was Established in 1993 and provides integrated mental health services to underrepresented adults and older adults in Los Angeles County. Services include screening, case management, crisis intervention, and specialized programs such as Full-Service Partnerships (FSP) and Out-Patient Clinical Services (OCS). Position Overview:We are seeking a Medical Director of Psychiatry to lead clinical and administrative functions across SCHARP and BAFMA. This is a full-time role with a 60% administrative and 40% clinical workload.Position Highlights:
  • Provide direct psychiatric care at least one day per week.
  • Report to the CEO to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
  • Lead and oversee the psychiatry providers as well as provide guidance to non-medical staff.
  • Implement operational procedures and develop medical policies in collaboration with the executive team.
  • Address barriers to care and improve appointment adherence.
  • Manage budgets, productivity metrics, and staff performance.
  • Provide education and training to enhance client care and provider communication.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Board-certified psychiatrist with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Strong leadership and administrative skills.
  • Experience in high-acuity and community mental health settings preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Additional board certifications are preferred, including child and adolescent psychiatry, internal medicine, family medicine, addiction medicine and forensic medicine.

Student Health Psychiatrist (Part Time or Full Time)

The Psychiatrist will provide high-quality psychiatric care to students at the University of California Riverside. This includes evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management. This position operates within the Student Health Services team and collaborates closely with the Mental Health Initiatives cluster, which include Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Well-being, and Follow up Team (SWIFT), and Case Management, to ensure the integration of psychiatric and counseling care to ensure a holistic and coordinate approach to patient care. This patient population is interesting, highly motivated, and generally very responsible about their psychiatric care. Communicates as necessary with primary care physicians and with outside therapists. Collaborates with Care Coordination regarding hospitalized patients or patients with complicated medical needs. Other supports include robust informational systems, user-friendly electronic medical record system, on-site member services, a quality management team, and expert practice management. The position provides 85% face-to-face clinical time (60 minutes for new intakes, 30 minutes for follow-up visits), 10% allotted for administrative tasks and 5 % allotted for collaboration with the Mental Health Initiatives cluster on student cases, treatment plans, and crisis management support. This position will be hired between 50% to 100% FTE.Candidates may be required to conduct a presentation as part of the interview process.The full salary range for the Student Health Psychiatrist is $160,723 – $412,561 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $319,400 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.UC Riverside has enlisted AMN Healthcare to assist us in our search.
