Nurses station is centralized in the middle, with the most critical patients being placed behind the nurses station Required Experience: 2 years Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience in a similar facility for acuity Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Very high acuity patient population – ages 0-18 years old Patients with congenital heart differences that have undergone surgery, medical management of pre-transplant and post-transplant, s/p cath lab, ventricular assistive devices, ECMO, Impella, Dialysis, Aquadex (Renal Replacement Therapy) Patient Ratios: RN: Varies on acuity: 2:1, 1:1, 1:2 CNA: none – 1 NA per day to support unit secretary duties and nursing support needs throughout the shift Required Licensure & Certifications: BLS, PALS, NIHSS Skills required: Experience with fresh open heart post op patients; transplant experience, experience with the following devices: Aquadex (renal replacement therapy), Impella, ECMO EPIC experience Ability/Competency to float to PICU – will be discussed during interview Support within the Department: CNA? Duties? 1 Health Care tech per day to support unit secretary duties and nursing support needs throughout the shift (runners, bathing, etc.) Unit Secretary every shift Charge nurse – free floating Phlebotomy – in house but not utilized as majority of patients will have central lines IV/VAT Team?
