Unit Information: Pediatric Intensive Care (64573) · Location: Alexandria, LA Address: 501 Medical Center Drive Floor: 3rd Building: Rapides Women’s & Children’s Hospital General Information Tell us about the unit(s): · Number of Beds – 6 · Type of staff: o Day Shift – 1 charge nurse & 1 RN/LPN (RN/LPN count varies with census) o Night Shift – 1 charge nurse & 1 RN/LPN (RN/LPN count varies with census) · Patient Ratios – 1:1-2 · Type of equipment – Alaris IV pump/Bair hugger/Kangaroo Feeding Pump/Giraffe infant warmer/Ventilators/BiPap/High Flow O2 · EMR – Meditech/Pyxis Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for: Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. · 1 year pediatric ICU nursing experience Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first. · PICU, NICU experience · Experienced in other women’s health areas (labor and delivery, ob/gyn) List typical procedures performed on unit(s): · Spinal taps · Titration of critical drips: sedation/vasoactive/paralytic · Sedated MRI · EKG/EEG/Telemetry · Port Access & Discontinuation · Intubation/Extubation Best personality Fit: · Patient person who is able to multi task and prioritize tasks effectively · Self-starter · Organized REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: · ACLS, BLS, PALS Floating Area(s): · May float to NICU (take low acuity) or Nursery · May float to Ob/gyn if qualified Dress Code: · Scrub Color/Attire – Teal Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines. · Weekends and On call(if any) Rotating weekends.
