Skills required: IV skills, chest tube setup, triage, wound care, splints/casting assistance, Support on the Unit: CNA (Ratio): CNA is also the HUC Receptionist/HUC: 1 Charge nurse: Depends on shift Phlebotomy: M-F, On Call after Hours IV/VAT Team: NO Resource Nurse: NO – call OR RN or DON for assistance RT: M-F in house from 0700-1500, no on call Hospitalist: Available 24/7 but not in house Telemetry monitoring: NO Technology/Equipment: EMR: Meditech IV pumps: Baxter Sigma Spectrum Medication dispensing: Pyxis Monitors: SpaceLabs (VS) Floating: If yes, where? The Emergency Department at KVH Hospital has a total of nine patient beds and offers a full complement of emergency patient services. It features Ouchless ER for pediatric patients, and trained nurse examiners provide medical care and collect evidence in cases of sexual assault. We are designated as a Level IV trauma service by the Washington State Department of Health and provide 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week emergency physician coverage.

(similar to parkland layout) · Location: 4312 Pacific Ave South East Lacey, WA 98503 · General Information Beds: 10, total 20 treatment spaces Experience: 2 full years of true ER experience (any trauma level); CAP – 5 years minimum First-time traveler: Yes Will be assigned a primary OCED, but the expectation when needed is to float to other OCED sites as needed and primary site may change depending on needs. Minimum night staffing varies per location usually 4 RN & 1 LPN, but can be 2 RN & 1 LPN Patient Types: Neonates – Geriatrics, 25% Peds, Walk-in traumas, all types of patients ranging from cardiac, neuro, GI, respiratory, psych, frequent drop off GSWs Will have to provide care to intubated patients will provide training for ventilator and bipap as there are no RT’s onsite, RN’s manage vent/bipap Covid & PPE: N95s PAPRs Goggles Patient Ratios: 1:4 Fast track 1:6 team nurse (LVP, NP) Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS, TNCC Skills required Strong ED experience, strong customer service, ventilator class (BiPAP) will provide during on boarding, knowledge of medication administration (mix own meds), chest tubes, central lines, strong IV skills Will be required to do charge (facility will train if needed) Support on the Unit: LPN Ratio: (LPNS: 2 1 will assist in rooms, and fast tracks) can take low acuity assignments as well as assist with procedures and medication administration (within their scope) Charge nurse: does take partial pt assignment is free in the afternoon to float and give breaks EST/Phlebotomy: Assist draw blood, but majority is RN draw or LPN No RT- RN’s will manage Vents No Pharm- will mix your own meds under the supervision of pharmacy via video conference Charting System/Equipment: EPIC Alaris Pyxis Floating: All other OCEDS; CAP – will only float if resident is not there (i.e. sick, in class) Mid shift floating (will pay for travel time) Will call traveler if you have to float before shift starts Orientation: 1 hospital orientation 1 full day with OCED unit educator 8h respiratory class 1 full day on the unit Traveler Telemetry Competency Required Required to be completed and passed prior to start. SimpliFi Compliance is responsible for grading this exam. Scheduling: Weekend rotation: try to rotate every other, but not guaranteed.
