This Cath Lab RN position is based in Littleton, Colorado, a charming community nestled against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains on the south side of the Denver metro area. Littleton offers a blend of suburban comfort and outdoor adventure, with tree-lined neighborhoods, miles of nearby trails, and easy access to popular recreation areas for hiking, biking, and skiing. The historic downtown district features locally owned shops, restaurants, and cafes, while nearby light rail and major highways provide convenient access to Denver’s arts, sports, and cultural attractions. Littleton is known for its excellent schools, welcoming neighborhoods, and vibrant community events, making it an appealing location for professionals looking to balance rewarding work with an active lifestyle. The hospital where this cath lab is located is a modern acute care facility serving the south Denver and Littleton communities, with a strong focus on whole-person care and collaborative, team-based practice. Nurses in this setting work closely with cardiologists, interventionalists, anesthesiologists, technologists, and support staff to deliver advanced cardiovascular care in a safe, efficient environment. The culture emphasizes respect, interdisciplinary communication, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes. As part of a larger regional network, this facility offers opportunities to gain experience with advanced cardiac procedures and to grow professionally within a supportive structure. As a Cath Lab RN, you will play a critical role in the care of patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. Typical procedures may include left and right heart catheterizations, coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), intravascular imaging, hemodynamic assessments, and potentially device-related or structural heart interventions depending on case mix. Your responsibilities will include pre-procedure patient assessment, preparing patients and rooms for procedures, monitoring patients throughout their procedures, managing moderate sedation, and providing post-procedure recovery and education. You will collaborate closely with physicians during procedures, assist with documentation, and participate in performance improvement and safety initiatives. A typical day in this role aligns with a 10-hour shift from 0700 to 1730, supporting both scheduled and emergent cases. You will be part of a call rotation that includes rotating weekdays and weekends, approximately 8–9 days per month, supporting urgent and emergent procedures such as STEMI activations. Weekend requirements involve rotating weekend call in coordination with the team. The standard assignment is 13 weeks with a total of about 40 hours per week, offering a structured yet dynamic schedule where days may vary based on case load and call responsibilities. Patient volumes and ratios in the cath lab are designed to support safe, focused care. While ratios can vary by case and acuity, the environment emphasizes individualized attention, continuous monitoring, and coordinated team support. You will often be responsible for one patient at a time in the procedure room, ensuring close observation of vital signs, hemodynamic status, and patient comfort. The lab operates with state-of-the-art imaging and monitoring equipment, and you will be expected to adhere strictly to radiation safety protocols, infection prevention procedures, and evidence-based standards of cardiovascular care. This role offers the chance to deepen your expertise in cardiovascular nursing, build your procedural skill set, and gain meaningful experience that strengthens your resume for future opportunities in critical care, cardiology, interventional services, or leadership. Working in this cath lab, you will be part of a collegial team known for supporting each other, assisting with complex cases, and welcoming new colleagues. For nurses who enjoy fast-paced procedural work, close physician collaboration, and the challenge of caring for high-acuity cardiac patients, this position in Littleton provides an excellent blend of professional growth and quality of life in a beautiful Colorado setting.
