The environment is designed for technologists who are comfortable operating independently overnight while still collaborating closely with ER physicians, nurses, and other support staff to ensure timely and accurate imaging. Key responsibilities include performing a broad range of CT and X-ray exams for emergent and urgent patients, prioritizing cases based on clinical need, and ensuring high-quality images that support rapid diagnosis and treatment. You will apply radiation safety principles consistently, verify patient identity and exam orders, screen for contraindications (especially for contrast studies), and monitor patients before, during and after imaging procedures. You will need to be comfortable working with IV contrast, assessing patient tolerance, and communicating changes in condition quickly to the care team. This position offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in advanced imaging and cross-sectional modalities. You will be expected to maintain competency in at least two advanced areas (such as CT, MR, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiography, Mammography, or Vascular), with support for obtaining additional certifications within 12 months as needed. The imaging department features modern digital X-ray equipment, PACS integration, and a team-based approach where technologists, radiologists, nurses, and support staff collaborate closely to provide efficient, high-quality diagnostic services. As an X-ray Technologist, you will perform routine and specialized diagnostic radiographic examinations for a broad range of patients, including outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and surgical cases. A typical day may include: Performing general radiography exams such as chest, extremity, spine, and abdominal imaging. Providing portable X-rays at the bedside for patients in critical care, medical-surgical units, and other inpatient areas. Supporting the emergency department with timely imaging for trauma and acute presentations. Assisting in the operating room with intraoperative imaging as needed, following sterile technique and surgical protocols. Verifying orders, reviewing patient histories, and ensuring appropriate exam selection in the EMR. Positioning patients accurately, applying immobilization when required, and adhering strictly to radiation safety and dose reduction practices. Collaborating with radiologists regarding image quality, additional views, and urgent findings. Maintaining equipment cleanliness, performing basic quality checks, and reporting service needs promptly. Documenting exams and patient interactions clearly and accurately.
