Including video, orthopedic equipment and all other needed equipment to do the above surgeries preferred. One year acute care OR experience within the last three years.

Helps drape sterile field. Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists other members of team with cleaning of room for turnover. Assists in prepping room for the next patient. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

The Surgical Technologist acts as a member of the surgical team in providing patient care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Prepare the appropriate instrumentation and materials for use on the surgical field, passing instruments to the surgeon during the procedure and room turnover. Perform surgical scrub duties as directed under supervision. What you will do: • Anticipates the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments, supplies and equipment in a timely manner. • Communicates in a positive, clear and concise manner to all members of the surgical team. Correctly selects and utilizes sterilization methods appropriate to specific instrument, supply or equipment. • Demonstrates ability to provide appropriate care based on the needs of the individual taking into consideration age, culture, and developmental issues. • Handles specimens and medications using correct technique and according to departmental policy and procedure. • Maintains sterile technique as well as sterile instruments, supplies and equipment. • Monitors and communicates to surgical team members breaks in technique and unsafe patient situations. • Performs the necessary surgical counts on sharps, small items, instruments and sponges with the circulating nurse prior to opening, during, and after closing the incision. • Prepares the surgical field by opening correct supplies and preparing instruments and equipment needed for the scheduled case.
