Performs tissue sectioning using microtome, prepares slides, stains and coverslips. Performs special and immunohistochemical stains and procedures as necessary. Performs gross examination on designated specimens using canned comments under the direction of a Pathologist. Maintains filing system and records for slides, blocks and tissues. Performs daily preventative maintenance of equipment. Requirements: Must be qualified to perform high complexity testing according to CLIA 493.1489 Standard; Testing personnel qualifications. ASCP certification Flu and COVID Vaccination.
