Qualified candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient-centered care and innovative, team-based practice. The selected candidate will provide outpatient clinical care at the UT Health San Antonio – Gateway Clinic, supporting both Hepatology and General Gastroenterology patient populations. This role ensures continuity of care across a broad spectrum of digestive health conditions while working collaboratively with subspecialty physicians.Clinical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:·    Management of complex hepatology conditions, including chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, viral hepatitis, and metabolic liver disease.·    Management of general gastroenterology conditions, including GERD, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), functional GI disorders, and colorectal cancer screening and surveillance.·    Performing comprehensive physical examinations and obtaining detailed medical histories.·    Ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic imaging studies.·    Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.·    Assisting in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as appropriate.·    Coordinating care services including vaccinations, infusions, diagnostic testing, and specialty referrals.·    Providing patient education and counseling on disease management and preventive care.·    Supporting care transitions and longitudinal disease management.·    This position also offers opportunities for clinical teaching and involvement in program development, with a focus on improving patient access, care coordination, and standardization across hepatology and gastroenterology services.·    The appointment will be at the level of Specialist, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and career trajectory.
