This outstanding Postpartum unit, based in exciting Thornton is looking for the right RN to join their team of compassionate and driven health care professionals. 130 bed Level 3 Trauma center located in a suburb just north of Denver

286 bed Level 2 Trauma center, 20 miles south of Denver. Private patient rooms, including Amenity Suites (larger rooms, private chef, robes, larger bathrooms, concierge service). Artwork primarily by Colorado artists to complement the environment and create a feeling of comfort and healing.

The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of their practice. The position is one of providing direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, postpartum, and to provide direct care to the newborn. Assuring all aspects of maternal childcare. Responsibility Performing assessments, monitoring process of labor, preparing for C-sections, inductions, and proper documentation of nursing care. Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum including infant care and providing patient education. Prepares delivery room, provides emotional support, and coordinates transfers. Administer IV medications, adhere to principles of infection control and general policies of OB department. Knowledge and/or interest in obstetrics and equipment. Accountability The RN reports directly to the New Beginnings Birth Center Manager. Special Demands Physical: Long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting. Exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells and infectious diseases possible. Qualifications Education: RN graduate with current Colorado licensure. Must have current CPR certification. Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS within one year of employment.

The campus is home to the St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas, Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery, Certified Stroke Center and rehabilitation services, and a Kidney Transplant Center. Postpartum – OB IMC (Intermediate Care) is designed for patients who’ve recently given birth and require more monitoring and care than typical postpartum units but do not need the intensive monitoring found in the ICU. Patients are typically stable but may have some complications or require extra observation to ensure safety and recovery after childbirth. 375 bed Level 2 Trauma center, home to the St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas.
