The Opportunity: Mercy Cedar Rapids (Mercy) seeks a dynamic, distinguished, and strategic executive to serve as its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mercy is a $494M net revenue, independent, faith-based, community-governed, not-for-profit hospital system. • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business required
• Master’s degree in finance, health administration or MBA preferred
• Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred
• Continuing professional education (CPE in healthcare finance and related areas of study) required
• A minimum of ten years of increasingly responsible and successful health care financial leadership experience in complex healthcare settings required.
• A minimum of six years of experience as CFO with responsibility in a large multi-service health care organization with both non-profit and for-profit operating entities required.
• Successful experience in preparing high-level financial reporting documentation, budgeting information, and financial projections to Boards and Committees of a large health care organization required.
• Strong evidence of previously successful results in developing and directing staff, in consistently evaluating their performance, and providing leadership for their ongoing professional growth required.
