A typical day may include: Coordinating scheduled outpatient studies and prioritizing inpatient and emergent exams Performing comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations according to established lab protocols and national standards Optimizing images and ensuring accurate measurements, doppler assessments, and waveforms Recognizing critical findings such as acute deep vein thrombosis, significant carotid stenosis, or rapidly expanding aneurysms and promptly communicating results to the appropriate provider Documenting procedures and findings thoroughly within the EMR and structured reporting systems Collaborating with physicians during complex or urgent cases and participating in multidisciplinary discussions when needed Contributing to quality assurance activities, protocol updates, and ongoing lab accreditation efforts You can expect to work with modern ultrasound equipment and digital imaging systems in a lab environment that emphasizes standardization, accuracy, and timeliness.
