The DAISY Award is an international program that thanks and honors the super-human work nurses do for patients and families every day. In partnership with the DAISY Foundation, AMN Healthcare proudly recognizes our nurses for their compassionate care, presenting the DAISY Award to deserving clinicians every quarter.
We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on our winner: Dawn H.
Meet the Recipient: Dawn H., Cardiac RN
Dawn is a Cardiac RN specializing in telemetry, and her journey into nursing is nothing short of inspiring. Here is a little about her:

What makes Dawn's story especially motivating is that she found her calling later in life. She returned to school in her 40s to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). In her own words, "Just goes to show, you can do anything you set your mind to at almost any age in life."
Her path is the reminder we need that it is never too late to pursue a career that fills your heart.
The Story Behind the Nomination
Dawn's recognition came from someone who witnessed her care firsthand: the family member of a patient she looked after. Their words captured what makes Dawn so special:
"Dawn is a very good nurse, has taken very good care of my father and does not miss things. Thank you Dawn for your amazing care and for being such an awesome care giver. You are a true example of what AMN stands for!"
Attentive. Thorough. Compassionate. Those qualities do not happen by accident. They come from a nurse who truly believes in her purpose.
Dawn shared her own mission behind the work she does every day:
"I knew my mission was to make an impact on changing healthcare, and becoming a nurse was where I was meant to start. I love what I do, and it makes my heart feel full."
