Celebrating Excellence: Robin Cline Wins the Q2 DAISY Award
Let’s take a moment to celebrate something truly special: nurses who go above and beyond, day in and day out. The DAISY Award honors nurses who put their hearts into caring for others. This quarter, we’re excited to share the story of someone who truly embodies the spirit of compassion and advocacy: Robin Cline.
What is the DAISY Award?
The DAISY Award was created to shine a light on the extraordinary care nurses provide every single day. Founded in memory of Patrick Barnes, the award serves as a heartfelt thank you to nurses for their exceptional commitment and the difference they make for patients and families. Presented by the DAISY Foundation, it recognizes those nurses whose kindness, expertise, and unwavering compassion transform healthcare experiences and inspire everyone around them. The DAISY Award celebrates the stories of nurses who lead with empathy and set an example for us all.
A Trusted Advocate in the Operating Room
Robin Cline isn’t just any Operating Room RN, she’s the friend and advocate every patient hopes for. Just recently, Robin stood up for a patient when a new surgery was being added, but neither the patient nor their family had agreed to it. It’s not easy to speak out in stressful situations, but Robin’s commitment to her patients is always front and center.
This is why she was nominated for a DAISY award. In her nomination, her colleague shared, “Robin is the perfect example of a patient care and patient experience focused RN. She chose to speak up when a surgery was added to a patient that neither the patient nor the patient's family had consented to. Robin always keeps her patient's needs, their rights, and their wants in mind, ensuring a positive experience for them in a tough time.”
Robin's actions were about doing what’s right, building trust, and keeping her patients safe.
More Than a Nurse
Robin’s been an operating room nurse for nearly nine years, and she says it best herself: “I absolutely love what I do. I get the joy of helping patients get better.” That’s the kind of energy we all need more of.
But Robin doesn’t stop caring when she clocks out. She’s a dedicated wife to her husband, who lives with a disability, and a proud mom to three amazing kids. At home, she’s got her hands full with a lively crew, including five cats and two dogs (a Frenchie and an Aussie Shepherd). It’s clear that Robin’s nurturing spirit stretches from her family to her patients, making her a source of inspiration for everyone around her.
