How to Apply for a Nursing License in Arizona

Wide Open Spaces and Career Growth

New nurses without a state license will need to apply for licensure by examination. If a nurse has graduated from an approved nursing program, taken the NCLEX or state board test pool exam, and have been granted an RN/LPN license by another state,  they can follow these steps for Arizona Nursing Licensure by Endorsement:

  • Submit an online application with fees
    Verify original state licensure through nursys.com
  • Provide citizenship/lawful presence documentation
  • Graduated from a nursing program, obtained a degree, & practiced as a nurse for at least 960 hours within the past 5 years
  • Completed an Arizona Board-approved refresher course and obtained an advanced nursing degree in the past 5 years
