Job Summary: Perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. Coordinate, manage, provide and delegate patient care. Responsible for meeting the established Standards of Nursing Practice, and promoting cooperation among the health care team. In addition, the Registered Nurse shall meet personal accountabilities as defined in the Tenet Standards of Conduct, Service, People, Quality, Growth and Cost. Assit under the direction of the primary operating surgeon in the perioperative care of the patients undergoing a surgical experience. The RNFA functions within the policies and guidelines established by the facility and reports directly to Director of Perioperative Services. Demonstrates intraoperative competency as an RNFA: manual dexterity, suturing and litigating, providing hemostasis, exposing the surgical site, position, prepping and draping. Assist in the development and education of new staff members. Attends and participates in staff meetings. Completes education, training, and competencies for department specific skills. Successfully adapts to changes in the unit, environment, and work flow. Assures all patient charge items are charged and documented correctly. Utilizes department resources appropriately.
