Hybrid in OR- some run a CT/IR scanner. – Will they have to float/cover any other areas?: Hybrid OR – not a deal breaker if they do not have this experience. – Common types of imaging & Job Duties: All IR procedures- service neuro IR, vascular, and neuro surgeons. Will be scrubbing in and circulating. Will be on the call team. – Experience: Require at least 1 year, prefer travel experience, and prefer stroke receiving facility experience. – Average # of scans/studies per day: Varies from 10-20 cases per day in addition to strokes. Stroke cases vary could be 1-4 per week. Have 2 IR techs per room. – EMR &/or PACS used: Cerner EMR, GE Centricity RIS, and Philips Intellispace PACS. – Department Specific Equipment: Philips – Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech: Lead IR tech. Techs are integrated with nurses so a charge nurse and nurse manager is also available, along with Radiology Director. – Do they use RRA’s: No- because they have residents. – Radiologist in-house?: In house during day, on call at night. They have 4 neuro rads, 2 neuro surgeons, and 3 vascular surgeons. – Do they have to start IV’s?: No- IR RNs will do. – Shifts & Scheduling: 4- 10s rotate their day off. Shifts start at 7a- 5:30p or 7:30a to 6p. – Weeknight/Call Requirements: 1-2 days per week. Weeknight call is 6p-7a. Call schedule will be put out and staff (including travelers) can choose their call days based on their schedule- picking 4 weeknight and 2 weekends. Allowed to switch call days with others if needed. 2 RNs and 2 IR techs on call team. – Weekend/Call Requirements: 1 weekend call per month- have a group of 9 that take call. Call starts on Fri at 6p till Mon at 7am. – Holiday/Call Requirement: If holiday lands on scheduled shift or scheduled call shift you work it.
