Treatments may include therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, transfer training, functional mobility practice, endurance building, and patient and family education. The facility’s rehab team environment is designed to be collaborative and supportive. Physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and nursing staff work closely together to develop and implement individualized care plans. You will have the opportunity to participate in care conferences, coordinate discharge recommendations, and play a key role in helping patients transition safely to the next level of care or back to the community. The variety of patient needs and the pace of the setting offer valuable experience for PTAs looking to strengthen their clinical judgment and communication skills. Patient-to-therapist ratios are managed to support safe, effective care delivery while maintaining realistic productivity expectations.
