This Occupational Therapist opportunity is based in Great Falls, Montana, a vibrant community in central Montana known for its friendly atmosphere, wide open skies, and beautiful views of the Missouri River. Great Falls offers a comfortable balance of outdoor adventure and small-city convenience, with easy access to trails, parks, and scenic overlooks as well as local shops, restaurants, and cultural events. Its central location makes it a gateway to many of Montana’s most beautiful landscapes, while still offering the day-to-day amenities and services that make life easy and enjoyable. The position is in a skilled nursing and post-acute rehabilitation setting that serves a broad regional population. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team that focuses on high-quality, patient-centered care for adults and geriatric patients. The facility supports a strong rehab culture where therapists are valued members of the care team and have the opportunity to influence patient outcomes, participate in care planning, and collaborate closely with nursing, physicians, and other allied health professionals. In this role, you can expect to evaluate and treat patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological events, general deconditioning, and other complex medical conditions common in a skilled nursing environment. Your day will typically include completing comprehensive OT evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, providing direct therapy services, and documenting progress in the EMR. Interventions often focus on ADL retraining, functional mobility, upper extremity strengthening, cognitive and safety training, and home or discharge planning. A standard schedule consists of five 8-hour shifts each week (5x8s) for a total of 40 hours, with some weekend coverage required as part of the team’s rotating schedule. The facility environment is professional and supportive, with a focus on collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement. New team members are oriented to the setting, EMR system, and care protocols so they can quickly feel confident in their role. The caseload offers exposure to a variety of conditions and functional levels, giving you opportunities to refine your skills, grow clinically, and build a strong resume in post-acute and geriatric rehabilitation. Great Falls itself is an appealing place to live and work, with a relaxed pace and a strong sense of community. Residents enjoy access to outdoor recreation such as hiking, fishing, and kayaking, as well as local festivals, art, and historic sites.
