This Physical Therapist opening is based in Matthews, North Carolina, a thriving suburban community just southeast of Charlotte. Matthews blends small-town charm with the convenience of a major metropolitan area. The town is known for its friendly neighborhoods, tree-lined streets, and a walkable downtown with local shops, restaurants, and coffee houses. Residents and visitors enjoy the Matthews Heritage Museum, the popular Matthews Community Farmers’ Market, and a variety of seasonal events and festivals that bring the community together. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the area’s parks and greenways, which are ideal for walking, running, and cycling. Matthews offers easy access to greater Charlotte’s cultural attractions, professional sports, live music, and dining scene, while maintaining a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. It’s a location that appeals to professionals who want both a welcoming community and close proximity to big-city amenities, including major airports and regional travel hubs. In this role, you will join a large, well-organized outpatient clinic environment with approximately 15 clinicians and techs. The facility emphasizes collaborative practice, continuous learning, and high-quality patient care. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to work with peers who support one another clinically and professionally, making this a strong setting to further build your outpatient skills and broaden your experience. This is a full-time, 13-week temp-direct assignment with an ASAP start. The clinic operates Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Your schedule will follow a 5×8 day-shift structure, totaling 40 hours per week. Exact shift times will be arranged within the clinic’s open hours to ensure consistent daytime coverage. The setting is a busy outpatient clinic where you can expect to treat a primarily orthopedic caseload, including post-surgical patients, sports-related injuries, and a variety of musculoskeletal conditions across different age groups. You will work with 40-minute treatment spots, which allows for focused, efficient care while maintaining strong patient relationships and clinical quality. Productivity expectations are clearly defined to help you understand your goals: you will be scheduled for approximately 15–16 patients per day, with an expectation of seeing a minimum of 12 patients per day. The model is primarily 1:1 care, with up to three concurrent care spots per day. This structure supports both individualized treatment and efficient patient flow throughout the day. A typical day in this clinic may include completing new patient evaluations, designing and progressing individualized treatment programs, delivering therapeutic exercise and manual therapy interventions, educating patients and families about diagnosis, home exercise programs, and long-term wellness, and documenting thoroughly and efficiently in the clinic’s EMR. You will collaborate with fellow PTs, PTAs, and support staff to coordinate care and maintain a smooth patient experience. The outpatient environment is designed to be both clinically challenging and professionally rewarding. You will have the opportunity to refine your skills with a diverse caseload, build your resume with high-volume outpatient experience, and work in a setting that values teamwork and consistent, evidence-informed care. The large clinical team offers built-in support, opportunities for collaboration, and a positive atmosphere focused on patient outcomes and professional growth. On-call duties are not required for this position, allowing predictable work hours and work-life balance within the clinic’s established schedule.
