Desired Shift: Night Shift 3/12s 6p-6a; vaginal delivery experience needed. 1 year experience, prefer in OB. Surge Tech or CNA cert preferred as well. Call required as needed. General unit tasks include – turning rooms over, stocking, assembling charts together, answering phones, call lights, vital signs of trained, and updating census logs. Cesarean section experience required. Job Summary: Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred Acute care facility experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required Essential Functions: Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient?s health or situation. Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient?s situation. Collaborates with the team of patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team. Participates in discharge planning in order to provide continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Checks labor and delivery rooms for adequate and well-functioning equipment and supplies. Tracks preventative maintenance on equipment and expiration dates of supplies. Sets up emergency equipment. Welcomes patients to the unit and escorts them to the appropriate room. Obtains Kaiser Card and photo ID from patient. Makes temporary patient ID bracelet. Transports patients to delivery room, Cesarean delivery room, ultrasound or post partum, when indicated. Checks testing schedule and pulls chart. Insures proper and adequate supply of packs. Sets up sterile delivery table and baby unit for delivery. Opens packs and sets-up for Cesarean delivery. Scrubs for c-sections. Assists RN when patient is in the recovery room, delivery room and Cesarean delivery room. Files monitor strips in envelopes. Washes instruments and places on central supply cart for sterilizing. Transports specimens to lab. • Keeps utility room and supply rooms neat and well organized . Answers lights and telephone Performs other related duties as necessary. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
