Typical responsibilities in this role include performing CT examinations for emergency, inpatient, and occasional outpatient cases during the night shift; following established protocols to produce high-quality diagnostic images; preparing and positioning patients while ensuring comfort and safety; administering contrast agents when appropriate; verifying patient identity and exam orders; and maintaining accurate documentation within the EMR and PACS systems. You will follow radiation safety guidelines and infection control standards at all times, and you will help monitor and manage imaging workflows to ensure timely completion of stat and routine studies. A typical night may include imaging for trauma cases, stroke evaluations, chest and abdominal CTs, spine and extremity exams, and other urgent diagnostic studies. You may support a mixed caseload that includes adult and geriatric patients, with occasional pediatric exams depending on the facility’s patient population. Patient ratios and exam volumes will vary based on census and emergency department activity, but the environment is designed to provide support from other technologists, nurses, and ancillary staff when needed. The CT Technologist will work a consistent night schedule, which may include 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts depending on departmental needs and scheduling practices. Weekend and holiday rotation is typically required to support 24/7 coverage, with opportunities to coordinate night schedules to fit personal and professional preferences. This position offers meaningful, hands-on clinical work in a supportive environment that encourages professional development.
