ROLE ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS: Regulatory/Educational Requirements · High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology. Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography. Must be registered in four modalities (RT, CT, MR, Nuc, or Mammo). Current BLS/CPR certification. Supervisor Responsibilities N/A Language Skills Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. Must be able to communicate with and provide accurate explanations and instructions about the procedure to the patient, significant others and other health care providers. Must be able to read, analyze and interpret documents necessary to provide adequate, quality patient care. Work Environment · The job requires potential exposure to infectious waste and an assortment of chemicals and pharmaceuticals as well as foul odors. · The noise level is moderate to occasionally loud, occasional interactions with belligerent and/or aggressive patients and significant others are possible. Computed Tomography (CT) by ARRT or NMTCB is required (CT required upon hire in the state of New Mexico). BLS required from AHA. 1 year of CT experience in a Hospital or Clinical setting preferred Basic computer experience required The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and will help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The CT Technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The CT Technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure.
