May become a preceptor. – Experience or ‘Must have’ skills: None at this time. – Job Duties (ie: Do RTs draw ABGs, perform EKGs, etc.): If you’re assigned ER and ICU you will stay there for the day. The floors fluctuate. Do need to draw ABGs with EPOC – will do a competency for the EPOC. Will do EKG’s when needed. No ART Lines. Charge RT goes to high risk deliveries. – Are RTs Required to be able to Intubate Independently or only to assist?: Will assist with intubation. – Respiratory Manager/Supervisor/Lead Therapist?: Mon- Fri there is a Manager. There is a charge/lead therapist for every shift of the day. – “Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) *Would they ever be the only RT in-house?*”: In April 2023 wil the manager will allow self scheduling. Shifts are 0530 -1800 for day and nights. They do try to do block scheduling. They will work with travelers. They do a 12 week schedule – may be a little mismatched in the beginning. 4-5 Therapists on the day 3-4 at Night. – Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend. – Holiday Requirements: No holiday requirements – if they ask they may let them if the staffing needs it. – Call or standby call requirement?: No – Floating Requirements: Will assist throughout the hospital – Scrub Color/Dress Code: Royal Blue and it has to have the CRMC logo on the shirt. – RT Equipment (Brand for Vents, Cpap, Bipap, High Flow): Puritan Bennent 980. Two draegers for the nursery. Phillips – CPAP and Bipap. Dream stations and V30’s – they should be repaired next year. EV300 and V60’s. V60s HFT option used during COVID. Optiflow for high flow. Parapack for transport – will assist with transports – Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Somebody is always on call 24/7 – Department Specific Orientation: 2 days (shifts) – Additional Notes: Will need to know how to use the bronch adapter and assist with bronchs. New equipment and friendly staff. Very welcoming. Reporting critical labs in a timely manner and hand hygiene is very important.
