AMN Healthcare Language Services is proud to be a sponsor of the Professional Association of Mississippi Interpreter and Translators (PAMIT) 2022 Virtual Conference taking place November 5th, 2022, online. This is PAMIT’s fourth annual conference where interpreters can earn CEUs and gain insights that will help them grow in their career.

This year’s PAMIT conference theme is “Skills for Success” and will feature five pre-recorded sessions on-demand and a live Keynote speaker, Gabriela Siebach, MATI, CHI. The conference will conclude with a panel discussion about professional skill development.

PAMIT is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to promoting, educating, and supporting language access between people across the State [of Mississippi]. The organization provides networking opportunities for interpreters and translators, as well as “advocacy on behalf of Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals and promote standards of professionalism” in the field of interpretation and translation.
Voices at the Virtual Conference
Medical interpreters are the bridge between LEP patients and the clinicians who treat them. Certified Medical Interpreters (CMIs) are required to earn three units of continuing education every five years. The PAMIT conference offers up to 11 hours of CEUs for LA AOC, MS AOC, TN AOC CE, and up to 10 hours for CCHI/CEAP CE.
Keynote speaker, Gabriela Siebach, MATI, CHI will share Reaching for Success as a Language Professional and Deliberate Practice for Interpreters: Practical Tools for Improving Performance. The pre-recorded presentations will include: Speaking While They Speak: Tips to Enhance Your Simultaneous Interpreting Skills by Gabriela Siebach; The Master Builder by Dr. Erick Smith, EIPA 4.0+; Note-Taking as an Algorithim for Thinking and Learning Consecutive Interpretation by Nanyi Mateo, CMI, CHI; Sight Translation for Interpreters by Cheryl Thomas, NAD V, CI, CT, NIC-M, SC:L, BEI Court; Interpreting for SIJS Cases in Immigration Court by Dr. Lisbeth Philip.
