Assembles sterilized instruments and rechecks all instruments for cleanliness and/or impairment. Properly checks power equipment. 6. Takes measures to allow for easy instrument tracking including following labeling processes, use of engraver, reporting and documenting all missing instruments and implants replaced in trays. 7. Communicates the equipment and instrument inventory status with the Central Processing staff and Surgery Charge Nurse including order status, back orders and/or changes. 8. Responds to emergency situations by insuring all emergency, trauma and add-on cases are supplied properly and delivered to the Operating Room in a timely manner. 9. Utilizes applications and technology to accurately facilitate record keeping in accordance with State and Federal regulations. 10. Provides on the job training on the job training (OJT) to newly hired associates in the department. 11. Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards. 12. Performs other duties as assigned. 13. May be required to work overtime based on business need. 14. May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need. 15. May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Identifies and evaluates loaner instruments prior to processing. Records loaner information in a log for tracking. Maintains Biological Incubator and log; evaluates for biological test results. Provides technical services and assists in operating room, recovery, outpatient endoscopy, and central sterile as assigned and directed. Works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and reports to the perioperative services manager. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
