Has advanced knowledge of contrast media, how it affects patients and what action to take in the event of a reaction. Checks and double checks all contrast before it is given to the patient and charts contrast usage appropriately in the patients chart. Use of vital signs monitoring equipment for critical patients. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent and graduation of accredited radiologic technology program required. CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: ARRT certification in MRI required. New hires, who have graduated from an accredited school, will have one year to complete ARRT certification in MRI. BLS issued through American Heart Association required. IV certification perfered. SKILLS: Thorough knowledge of MRI procedures, equipment, cross sectional anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and patient care skills. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1-year MRI experience preferred.
