This position is scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday shifts from 0630 to 1900. Every Thursday, you will also provide night call coverage from 1900 to 0700. During the assignment, you will take one or two weekends of call, with specific dates coordinated according to your start date. Weekend call includes working on-site Saturday 0800 to noon, then being on call from Saturday noon through Sunday 1900. This schedule offers extended days with concentrated work, leaving other weekdays available for rest, personal activities, or exploring Springfield and the surrounding region. As an MRI Technologist in this role, you will: Perform high-quality MRI exams on GE 1.5T closed magnets at both hospital and outpatient sites Screen patients thoroughly for MRI safety, contrast use, and potential contraindications Start IVs and administer gadolinium-based contrast agents according to protocol and policy Work closely with radiologists, nurses, and fellow technologists to prioritize cases and manage daily workflow Operate GE MRI consoles and related imaging software, ensuring proper patient positioning, coil selection, and protocol adherence Utilize Epic EHR for orders, documentation, and communication, and Change/GE PACS for image management Provide compassionate, clear communication to patients, including those anxious or uncomfortable in the MRI environment Follow all MRI safety policies for patients, staff, and visitors, including Zone restrictions and screening procedures Assist with patient transfers and positioning, ensuring attention to comfort and safety, especially for those with limited mobility Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient MRI environment across both practice locations The environment is supportive and collaborative, with a focus on maintaining steady throughput while keeping quality and patient care as top priorities.
