The position is a 13-week, full-time histology assignment with a 40-hour workweek and a start date as soon as possible. Operating microtomes, cryostats, and other histology instruments to produce high-quality sections for microscopic evaluation. Trimming tissue specimens into appropriate blocks and fixing tissues using solutions such as formalin in preparation for embedding and long-term preservation. Preparing slides using routine and special stains to enhance tissue detail, supporting accurate diagnosis by the pathologist. Fixing, dehydrating, and infiltrating tissue specimens with wax to preserve them for study and archival purposes. Following established quality control, safety, and regulatory standards and contributing to a culture of accuracy and reliability in the lab.
