Depending on department structure, you may also provide services in intensive care or step-down settings, participating in early mobility and functional restoration programs in close partnership with nursing and medical staff. A typical day includes performing thorough physical therapy evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions focused on mobility, balance, strength, endurance, and functional independence. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, respiratory therapists, and case managers, to coordinate care and support safe, timely discharges.
